Walking tours in beautiful Sithonia
In the west Toroneos gulf and the view of the first leg and in the east the imposing Mount Athos. Around lacy beaches are spread and high hills dominate the pines. Sithonia the second peninsula of Halkidiki, is so beautiful, and it's really worth it to tour its off-road trails, and discover every inch. Sithonia is engraved and marked with six "Trident" walks, numbered 7 - 12.
ROUTE 7: Elia Beach - Saint Paul - Elia Beach
It is an easy route through forest roads and more narrow paths offering beautiful sea views. It starts from the Elia beach, and the Athena Palace hotel. It continues to climb the hill above the coast and reaches the hill of St Paul where is the church of St Paul built near an ancient spring. A little higher, at an altitude of 300 meters is the hill Petros, a big rock surrounded by trees and with spectacular view of the entire peninsula. Through the path with the special marking and the same forest road, the path leads back to Elia beach.
ROUTE 8: Nikiti - Ag. Nikolaos - Nikiti
It is a circular walking route through forest paths crossing the hill behind Nikiti and reaches the village of Agios Nikolaos. The starting point is beside Nikiti school. The tour is through the trees, and you will find the picturesque church of Prophet Elias.
ROUTE 9: Neos Marmaras - Parthenonas
The is a long route that starts from the town of Neos Marmaras, continues to the old traditional village of Parthenonas and ends north of Neos Marmaras in the tavern "Drosia". It is a long course that lasts 4 hours, crossing a spectacular natural scenery and offers unique experiences.
ROUTE 10: Porto Carras - Coastline
The route goes along the coast south of Porto Carras Resort and passes through beautiful beaches and coves. In the largest part it runs parallel to the main road. At the point where the road ends for cars, the route continues for at least another two kilometers.
ROUTE 11: Porto Koufo - Kapros - Porto Koufo
The beginning of the route is located at the natural harbour of Porto Koufo. It runs through rural paths until it ends at Kapors, the southernmost point of the peninsula. From there the view is truly spectacular, and when the weather is clear, one can see to the southwest the islands Sporades.
ROUTE 12: Sykia - Circular walk
This circular route begins and ends in Sykia. It lasts 4 hours, it follows some rural paths and dirt roads and crosses the surrounding hills and grassy fields.
